The following presentation types will be available for selection upon submission of an abstract:
- Oral presentation
- Poster presentation
We will accept abstracts covering the following themes:
- Celebrate – Rural emergency medicine is an exciting and unique field that offers many opportunities
for clinicians to flourish. Topics in this theme will provide the opportunity to reflect and celebrate on the
changing landscapes around us, and the unique challenges that working in these environments present.
Submissions under this theme are encouraged to be creative, joyful, and original. They may take the form
of case studies, personal stories, or descriptions of successful systems changes. You may also wish to
submit a more traditional evidence-based scientific paper that embodies this theme.
- Innovate – In the forever changing landscape of RRR emergency medicine care, clinicians are
challenged to use innovative ways of solving complex problems to provide better patient outcomes. As with
our metropolitan counterparts, evidence-based care forms the bedrock of regional, rural, and remote
practice. Topics in this theme will provide high quality scientific evidence regarding innovative care in
regional, rural and remote emergency care that leads to better patient outcomes.
- Rejuvenate – Providers in regional, rural and remote regions have become experts at rejuvenating
our healthcare landscape in the wake of natural disasters, resource limitations, and unexpected challenges.
Topics in this theme will look at the best available evidence for processes, interventions, systems changes, and
innovative solutions that have successfully contributed to the rejuvenation of RRR emergency healthcare
services.
