If you need a casual nanny or babysitter service to attend workshops or social functions, you are welcome to book via Abracadabra Childcare Services Pty Ltd.

Nannies/Carers have their Working with Children Clearance Check, First Aid Certificate and interviews and reference checks with past and present employers have been conducted. The carers work a minimum of 4 hours per day where there is only one shift per day.

They have agency casual booking fees in place to cover the cost associated with the time, effort and resources to ensure that the candidates who respond to their advertising are fully registered, interviewed, reference checked, and all online verifications are carried out to ensure that they have fully screened and reference checked carers to place for your bookings. Each casual/temp booking placed carries a minimum 4 hours to offer incentive to our carers to take on the fewer hours. If fewer hours are offered, they find they cannot offer the consistency you are looking for or need as the carers move on to other roles which are offering more hours.

The minimum daily agency booking fee for is $40 (+GST) per day booked depending on the location of care and on the amount of notice they receive that the care is required. This is payable by credit card upon engagement in the services to cover the cost of the search for a suitable carer for you and your family. Please note that late bookings (less than 48 business hours) and remote locations are slightly higher. The agency will conduct a search on their current database and, in line with the criteria set out on your registration form, will select the carer for you. Once a carer has been confirmed for the days/hours you require, Abracadabra will contact you to provide a brief on the carer including their past experiences and qualifications and their hourly rate. Time allowing, they will also arrange for the carer to contact you prior to the sit to introduce themselves to you via phone.

The carers work a minimum of 4 hours per day where there is only one shift per day.  The hourly rate for a Nanny/Carer would be between $35 to $40 per hour payable by the family directly to the carer plus any kilometres travelled using carers vehicle for the transportation of your child(ren).  This is based on no invoice for the hours of work being required for reimbursement purposes and payment for the hours of work being paid directly to the carer.

Please Note:

  • Earliest start time for care is 5.00am and the latest finish time is 12.00am, otherwise an overnight stay will be required and different rates apply.
  • For the above option if the carer is required to use their own vehicle during working hours for transportation of your child(ren) for taking to activities, etc then the charge per km is currently $0.92 per km payable directly to the carer.   The carer would be provided with a vehicle log form for completion during the week and it would then be returned to you at the end of each week for reimbursement when paying the carer directly.  Please note that if a car seat is required for your child(ren) this would need to be able to be provided to the carer.
  • If you require an invoice for reimbursement purposes through your Company or Funding Entity (e.g. NDIS, Community Services etc) please be aware that the costs will vary as the processes for engagement in our services will differ and the agency will be paying the carer on your behalf.  The agency ask that you to please advise us before completing any forms to engage our services.
  • If care is for more than one family please advise as there are surcharges involved for the agency booking fee and hourly rate.
  • Fees and charges are subject to change.

In support of delegates with parenting or caring responsibilities, a private section in the childcare room is available from Monday 8 July and Tuesday 9 July during the registration opening hours. Please ask at the registration desk for further assistance.
