Geetha Gokul Naidu
Emergency Physician - Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital
Professional Bio
Geetha is passionate about education and continues to advocate that rural training plays a powerful role in the making of a solid, versatile FACEM.
Geetha was born and raised in Malaysia. She studied medicine through a twinning programme between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Penang Medical College (now RUMC). Having completed her internship in a major referral hospital in Malaysia, Geetha then worked most of her post graduate years in rural Malaysia before making the move to Australia to pursue her fellowship in Emergency Medicine.
Following the invaluable training she received in Tamworth, she decided to stay on and has continued to work there as an Emergency Physician. Geetha is also the Co-DEMT at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, a member of ACEMs Regional, Rural & Remote Committee and the Rural Representative on the Emergency Medicine State Training Council in NSW. She shares her rural life in beautiful Kamilaroi country with her GP husband and their 7-year-old son.
