Professional Bio
Isobel (Izzie) completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at the Byron Yoga Centre in 2022. From there she went travelling with friends, teaching them for the year, the perfect way to start as a new teacher. Since moving to Darwin last year, she started doing zoom classes with friends and also teaching at a local gym once a week.

Izzie had done yoga on and off for many years but particularly picked up the consistency once she started nursing in ED full time after grad year. To put it simply, yoga makes Izzie feel great and she noticed such a change in how she felt once she started practicing consistently. She believes that when something feels great it feels greedy to keep it all to yourself, hence why she decided to do her training and share the greatness where she could.

Izzie describes her classes as a slow flow, hatha inspired class. A mixture of longer holds, deep stretching and flowing with the breath. Anyone can do yoga, it’s much less about how flexible you are and much more about taking the time to connect movement to breath. This simple connection of moving with breath makes yoga a very mindful practice, helping you get out of the busy mind and back into the body, ideally leaving you feeling a little calmer and a little more centred.

She certainly doesn’t take it too seriously and loves just seeing people give it a go, no matter what your experience is!
