Juan is a passionate educator and a strong advocate of supporting those going rural.

Having been born in Mexico but raised in a farming town in Ireland – rural medicine has always been a passion. Once he completed his medical degree in Dublin, he set off working in rural towns in Ireland before continuing that rural experience in New Zealand.

Now living in Hobart with his wife and 4 kids, this passion continues. 

He is now the director of the EMET and EMCD program in Hobart that helps to foster and grow the next generation of rural Emergency doctors.
