Emergency Consultant - Qld Health

Professional Bio
Dr Julia Bruce-Thomson is an Emergency Physician, Paediatric Emergency Physician, Educator, and advocate for Rural Emergency Medicine Excellence Care.

As a graduate of The University of Aberdeen and a proud Northeast Scot, she embarked on an adventure to Tasmania and has never looked back.

She has been involved in retrieval teams across outback Australia and Aotearoa - often landing in small hospitals with very sick patients and always has been impressed with the compassion, abilities and versatility of rural practitioners and the patients themselves.

She has been a DEMT these last few years, however, is now concentrating her efforts as the Paediatric Emergency Coordinator for Rural North Queensland - which is as challenging as it sounds.  She is also part of the Emergency Medicine Education Team for Far North Queensland and has also just newly joined the Queensland Rural and Remote Steering Committee as a Medical Expert.

Her passion is bringing solutions to teams, and looking for new challenges - which is exactly the skills she uses in rural practice.
