Professional Bio
Dr Michael McCarron is a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist at the Sydney Children's Hospital & a Retrieval Specialist at NETS NSW.
After graduating from the University of Dundee, Scotland, he completed his postgraduate Paediatric Emergency Medicine specialist training across the UK, before swapping post-industrial Glasgow for the harbour city of Sydney in 2019.
Having spent 6 months working in Coffs Harbour and in his role as a staff specialist at NETS NSW, Michael has first-hand experience of the inequity in access to healthcare faced by regional, rural and remote communities in NSW. At NETS NSW he is privileged to be able to advocate and care for patients & families in these communities, and is passionate about ensuring that all children in NSW have access to the highest quality specialist emergency and intensive care, no matter where they live.
Michael is the NETS NSW representative on the ECI Rural Referral Emergency Advisory Group (RREAG).
