Awarded Fellowship in the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine New Zealand in 2010, I have spent most of my medical career working in a secondary specialist hospital ED.  From 2012 to 2020 I was the sole DRHMNZ Fellowship Assessor for the South Island of New Zealand, before becoming the inaugural Chief Assessor.  Other management roles include Emergency Department Clinical Director and Chief Medical Officer both locally and nationally in 2022. Regarding hospital accreditation, we are looking most of all for safe supervision, excellent teaching and clinical exposure to sufficient variety, acuity and volume of patients.
