Sally McCarthy works at Prince of Wales ED Sydney as a senior emergency physician previously ED director, with academic appointment at UNSW, and has led and worked in EDs of all sizes in metro and rural locations. Consultant for the WHO, Past President of IFEM and ACEM, Sally holds/ has held numerous peak leadership roles in emergency medicine and in health more broadly. She was a leader in establishing the ACEM certificate and diploma qualifications and the National Program including EMET and was recently awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to emergency medicine and leadership roles.
