Professional Bio
Sonia Henry is a GP and author. She has had 2 books published with Allen and unwin, both of which have been Australian best sellers. Her second book was a memoir which recounted her experiences working as a GP in remote Australia. She is passionate about welfare of doctors (an anonymous article she wrote in 2017 ‘there is something rotten inside the medical profession’ went viral and was shared over thirty thousand times worldwide). She is a council member of the Medical Benevolent Association of NSW which advocates for doctors in distress. She is also a champion for remote medicine and health equity for people who live out of metropolitan Australia, and First Nations health. She loves Darwin and it features in her second book.
