Professional Bio
Sophie Collins (she/her) is a dual ACEM/ACRRM trainee with interests in health equity, rural/remote medicine, and social emergency care. Born and raised in Sydney, she obtained her medical degree and her love of rural health in the Hunter New England region of New South Wales. Her medical career has subsequently spanned the continent, from the chilly southern halls of the Royal Hobart Hospital to the remote emergency department of Tennant Creek. In 2023, Sophie was the first ACEM trainee to undertake a Special Skills Placement in Indigenous Health, working in the Alice Springs ED Frequent Attenders Care Coordination Program. She has worked on Arrernte Country on and off since 2018, and is proud to now call the red dirt and blue skies of Mparntwe/Alice Springs home.
